Press releases from Compodium

In Facebook’s footsteps!

Compodium raises availability and reduce environmental impact with new strategic partner.

Compodium, a pioneer within the secure video meeting field, has signed a server co-location contract with Hydro66. Although placing data centers in the northern parts of Sweden isn’t anything unique, Facebook did this as early as 2012.

With sustainability as a foundation for Compodium’s business it was important to choose a partner who offered co-location services using 100% renewable energy. This, and many other reasons is why Hydro66 was chosen as supplier.

With the demand for secure and reliable digital meetings rising globally and with current customer’s such as the UN, Husqvarna and the Swedish Medical Services Compodium are continuously working to stay ahead of the curve, improve service quality and -availability as well as reducing the environmental impact of our services and business.

Stockholm, November 14, 2017

In September, Telia launched their Digital Care Rooms and Telia Digital Health Planning  services which build on technology from Compodium.

Stefan Friis

We are proud to work with a company as renowned as Telia with their new initiatives in E-Health, says Stefan Friis, Nordic Sales Manager at Compodium.  With our experience in delivering digital meetings to the Healthcare Industry through our collaboration with Inera, this is the right arena for us.

We offer an opportunity for patients to meet with their own Healthcare Provider who is familiar with their individual history. This, paired with the high security and simple user workflow of the solution ensures the patient can feel secure. Says Jan Ribe, responsible for ProCare, a part of Telia’s Healthcare Division.

Telia Digital Care Rooms enables Public and Private Healthcare Providers to establish a Digital Presence. The communication is secure, encrypted and is initiated only when the patient  has authenticated via BankID. The solution is furthermore able to be integrated into e.g. journal- and booking systems.

A key part of our offering is the ability to  package in-house and third party applications in a complete solution. Telia’s Digital Health Planning Solution is a good example of this, Jan Ribe continues. To work with an ecosystem of partners with specialist competency such as Compodium is therefore incredibly important for us.

About Telia ProCare:

ProCare is a portfolio consisting of expert services and digital tools which responds to challenges in the Healthcare Sector, individually or as a whole.

ProCare is the platform which:

  • Gives the Healthcare Provider insight into their own organisation in order to identify areas  which can be improved and made more efficient.
  • Opens up tools and possibilities for Healthcare Procivers to meet with patients on their terms – in person or via video
  • Offers Healthcare Professionals an improved working environment with decreased levels of stress, improved cooperation and less time spent looking for information.

About Compodium:

For 20 years, Compodium has provided secure and reliable video solutions to demanding customers in business, defence, government and healthcare.

Compodium has the market’s most secure and complete video production platform, frame agreements with all Sweden’s counties and the operational responsibility for the National Multiparty Service on Sjunet – an assured communication network created for the Healtchare Industry.

Compodium provide resources for hurricane Harvey recovery

Jon Strindlund

Jon Strindlund

“What we do is to set up a disaster relief service that the authorities will then refer to for different meetings. We have done similar things in Sweden earlier with, among other things, the Armed Forces who can work together to quickly rescue and assess the extent of injuries. In Texas, we have received a request from the hospitals.” says Jon Strindlund, Head of International Markets at Compodium.

Compodium has had a subsidiary in the United States since 2013. One of the US subsidiary’s customers is the Texas-based company Vesalius Ventures with interests in online care. The request came from the Vesalius team Andrew Nerlinger, Lori and David Balch who are now coordinating disaster relief, David and Lori are pioneers in Telemedicine and have extensive experience in “Disaster Medicine” and coordinating disaster relief. They are now engaged in the work to quickly build resources to help with the work to support care in the disaster-stricken Texas. As they already use Compodium’s services, they now want to enable additional resources to coordinate different relief efforts.

Compodium enters the US market

Compodium is pleased to announce the opening of our US office in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Chapel Hill is part of Research Triangle Park (RTP) which has two well-known Medical Universities, Duke University and University of North Carolina, (UNC). RTP is also known for it life science and medical device industry. Our wholly owned subsidiary ComPodium Inc. is managed by our President Bjorn Nordwall, a senior executive with global experience in key industry paradigm shifts, such as the mobile internet and mobile health care. Bjorn has 30+ years of experience from global 500 organizations as well as emerging companies in key market arenas.
The US market is of special interest because of the changes brought on by “The Affordable Healthcare Act” one piece of the act aims at moving towards pay for performance rather than transaction. Creating Accountable Care Organizations to improve quality and get better efficiency where communications and visual collaboration will play an important role.
—“The US market is very competitive and expensive to enter, however we feel that we can leverage the experience we have managing the visual collaboration and virtual meetings for the Swedish healthcare. The market is huge with no established market leader in the healthcare space and it is therefore an important market for us” Bengt Grahn CEO Compodium International AB.
—“As the US healthcare industry is fragmented with several stakeholders and on top of that in a stage of change. We have an excellent opportunity to get recognition as a thought leader using our virtual meeting platform to connect old legacy technology with the plethora of mobile devices that are expected to be used in the healthcare system. The mobile devices have an opportunity to connect the doctors with their patients creating better communication and efficiencies in the system.” Bjorn Nordwall President Compodium Inc
